Could Ariana Grande and Ricky Alvarez be back together as a couple?
Fans of the 33-year-old singer think that she’s hinting at a reignited romance with her ex after changing the lyrics for “Thank U, Next” for a third time on the Eternal Sunshine Tour.
Ariana begins the song by referencing all of her exes. She normally sings, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh.”
For the June 24 show in Austin back, Ariana changed the lyrics to, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now they kinda slap.” One day later, they were seen hanging out together in the Texas city.
At the next show on June 26, Ariana changed the lyrics to, “Wrote some songs about Ricky, I know he still got my back.” He was in the audience and standing next to her parents in the VIP section for this show.
Ariana and Ricky were spotted in her hometown of Boca Raton, Florida celebrating the July 4 holiday during a break from the tour. Just days ago, she also went on Ricky‘s Instagram page and liked every single one of his posts.
Fast forward to the July 13 show in New York City, Ariana has changed the lyrics yet again.
“Wrote some songs about Ricky, we always find our way back,” she sang at this show.
If you didn’t know, Ariana is newly single after recently breaking up with Ethan Slater after years of dating. They met while working together on the Wicked movies, in which she played Glinda and he played Boq.
