Justin Baldoni had until July 13 to respond to Blake Lively‘s request for him to pay $8 million worth of her legal fees and now his team has submitted their response.
Last month, Blake filed a claim with the court, saying that she wanted Justin to pay for the costs associated with her lawyers and all of the litigation expenses she says she endured during the It Ends with Us legal case.
While Blake and Justin settled their case back in May, the judge ruled in June that Blake was entitled to attorneys’ fees and litigation costs in her battle against Justin.
Blake is seeking $8,035,040.88 in both lawyer fees and litigation-associated costs. Broken down, she specifically wants $7,495,526.87 in attorneys’ fees and $539,514.01 for the litigation.
Justin Baldoni’s team responds to the request
TMZ reports that Justin‘s team filed documents with the court claiming that Blake‘s team “failed to present credible evidence showing she’s entitled to the fees and are asking the judge to deny her request outright.”
If the judge determines that Blake is owed the legal fees, Justin‘s team says the amount should be six-figures and that the $8 million number is overinflated.
Justin‘s attorney Bryan Freedman said, “Lively’s fee request is so over-inclusive that it sweeps in fees for researching her own liability for perjury arising from her California CRD claim and her Rule 11 motion for which the Court has already denied fees!”
Last week, Justin broke his silence and released his first public comments about the lawsuit.
