Jake Shane is opening up about the Therapuss interview that made him more nervous than usual.
The 26-year-old podcast host, who has welcomed an impressive list of celebrity guests, revealed in a new Interview magazine conversation with Role Model that Lorde was the guest who made him especially nervous.
When Role Model brought up how often Jake seems nervous at the start of celebrity interviews before getting comfortable, Jake admitted, “I’ll settle eventually. I was pretty nervous for Lorde.”
The confession makes sense for longtime fans of Jake, who has been very open about his love for pop stars and how much artists like Lorde impacted him growing up and how her music was influential to him.
“Love her. I actually met her at your birthday dinner,” he added of Lorde, though Role Model and Jake then quickly clarified that she was not actually at the dinner.
Lorde appeared on Therapuss in June 2025, and Jake made it clear during the episode just how big of a deal the booking was for him.
“I literally called everyone up, and I said, ‘This is a 911. Lorde is coming in on Saturday. I’m sick about it and cancel your plans,’” he said at the time.
Therapuss launched in January 2024 and joined Netflix’s podcast roster earlier this year, with guests including Kylie Jenner, Hailey Bieber, Paul Rudd, and Selena Gomez.
Earlier this year, Jake went viral for asking Kacey Musgraves an awkward question about time zones during his podcast.
