Sullivan’s Crossing is losing a major player!

It was just announced that the popular CTV and The CW drama series’ showrunner, Roma Roth, is stepping down ahead of the upcoming fifth season, according to TheWrap.

Roma created the show and has worked as head writer and showrunner since the series premiered in 2023, and she will be stepping away from those duties. She will, however, remain an executive producer, juggling the same duties on Netflix’s Virgin River, where she also serves as executive producer.

It was announced that Floyd Kane will step in as the new showrunner.

Still of Morgan Kohan on Sullivan's Crossing

While Sullivan’s Crossing has been renewed for season five by Canadian network CTV, it has yet to be renewed to air on The CW, though it is reportedly being finalized to return on the US network.

Roma‘s exit comes as the series is slated to begin filming on season five later this summer, months after it’s fourth season premiere on The CW in April.

Her exit also comes just one season after star Scott Patterson left the show over creative differences.

Still of Chad Michael Murray in Sullivan's Crossing

Stars Morgan Kahan and Chad Michael Murray will reprise their roles in season five.

Here’s what happened in season four

Maggie Sullivan’s (Kohan) life at the Crossing is finally taking shape having decided on a new direction for her career and a renewed commitment to Cal (Murray). That is, until Maggie’s ex-husband, Liam (Marcus Rosner), arrives with a shocking revelation which only upends Maggie’s life once again and causes Cal to question whether Maggie will ever truly be able to leave her past behind.
