Ryan Hurst Injured in Stunt on ‘God Of War’ Set, Production Paused – Just Jared – Celebrity News and Gossip

Ryan Hurst is recovering from an on-set injury.

On Thursday (July 16), sources told TMZ that the 50-year-old Walking Dead actor tore his bicep while filming a stunt for the upcoming Prime Video series adaption of the popular video game God Of War.

Since the injury requires Ryan undergo surgery, production has been put on pause.

According to the sources, production was hoping to have Ryan back on set in mid-August, but the recovery process is too long to meet that timeline and filming may be pushed back to 2027.

As of right now, the stunt that injured Ryan has not been revealed.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Ryan will be leading the series adaptation of the massively popular PlayStation video game franchise. He will be playing Kratos, the Spartan warrior who traded his soul to Ares in exchange for victory in battle, who has led the franchise across ten video games to date

The series will follow the storyline of the two most recent God of War games, which introduced Kratos’ 10-year-old son, Atreus.

The cast also includes Callum Vinson, Teresa Palmer, Max Parker, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Mandy Patinkin, Ed Skrein, Lous Cunningham, and Island Austin.
