Asjha Cooper has joined the cast of two Power shows!
The actress was introduced as Tiana in Power Book III: Raising Kanan‘s season five, episode three, but her true identity was unveiled in the next episode, which aired Friday (July 3) on Starz.
Tiana was introduced as a call girl working for Flossie Siegel (Leslie Grossman), and she revealed to Kanan on Friday’s episode that her real name is Jarita.
Power fans will recall that Jarita is Kanan’s love interest, who first appeared in the OG show’s second season, played by Tasha Smith across three episodes, and is the mother of his son Shawn Stark.
Asjha will continue in the role as a guest star throughout the remainder of the show’s final season.
She will then reprise the character in the upcoming spinoff series Power: Origins, alongside Kanan Stark actor Mekai Curtis, in a series regular capacity.
Power: Origins follows “Ghost, Tommy and Kanan as ambitious young entrepreneurs on the rise, determined to make their mark on the streets of New York City.”
Filming is currently underway on the fourth spinoff in the franchise in New Jersey.
