Kyle Busch‘s cause of death has been revealed.
If you didn’t see the sad news, it was announced that the NASCAR driver had tragically died on Thursday, May 21 after a “severe illness.” He was 41-years-old.
On Saturday (May 23), Dakota Hunter, vice president of Kyle Busch Companies, revealed in a statement to ESPN that Kyle died from severe pneumonia that progressed into sepsis.
“The medical evaluation provided to the Busch Family concluded that severe pneumonia progressed into sepsis, resulting in rapid and overwhelming associated complications,” the Busch family statement read. “The Family asks for continued understanding and privacy during this difficult time.”
The Busch family received the medical evaluation on Saturday morning.
What happened on the 911 call for Kyle Busch?
The day before his death, Kyle passed out while testing in a racing simulator, sources told AP.
People obtained the call and reported that the caller told an operator, “I’ve got an individual that’s [got] shortness of breath, very hot, thinks he’s going to pass out, and he’s producing a little bit of blood, coughing up some blood.”
The emergency responder asked if Kyle was conscious and the caller said, “He is awake. He’s awake on the bathroom floor right now.”
TMZ reports that the caller asked emergency responders to turn off their sirens when they arrived at the facility. The caller said he would wait outside to greet them at a side entrance.
Kyle made his final public appearance just days ago during a race and his final Instagram post was a touching tribute to his son.
