Miley Cyrus is the latest star to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
The 33-year-old singer and actress was honored with the star on Friday morning (May 22) in Hollywood.
Miley was joined at the event by her fiance Maxx Morando, mom Tish Cyrus, sister Brandi Cyrus, and friends Anya Taylor-Joy and Donatella Versace, who both spoke on her behalf at the event.
Anya opened up about how she first discovered Miley‘s career as a child.
I was 10 years old, recently back from a vacation in Florida with my parents and clutching my prized J-14 tween magazine to my chest. On the back, a beautiful girl wearing a wig that would become the blueprint for every pop star’s hair since then held a finger to her lips. And I knew that this, and her, were going to be huge.
Anya noted, “Today as she takes her rightful place on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, we’re not just celebrating a career, we’re celebrating a woman who taught an entire generation how to own their story. Even when it’s messy, even when it changes, and especially when it doesn’t fit neatly into a box.”
Donatella made a cute remark that connected to fashion.
“Just remember, if any of you guys step over Miley Cyrus’ star, do it with attitude and, if possible, in high heels,” she said.
