Malcolm-Jamal Warner‘s widow, Tenisha Warner, is suing his mother, Pamela Warner, over alleged unpaid debts stemming from his family trust.
According to the lawsuit documents obtained by TMZ, Tenisha has filed a lawsuit against Pamela after Malcolm‘s death. She claims the star left behind $1.2 million in financial benefits as part of their prenuptial agreement when he passed away and she’s trying to collect it now.
She says that several of the promises he made to her were not fulfilled before he died, including a $1 million life insurance policy naming Tenisha as the sole beneficiary that he never actually purchased.
Tenisha further alleges that Malcolm failed to make annual tax-free payments of $16,000, pay her a $5,000 monthly salary for serving as his chief of staff and assistant, and fund a Roth IRA. Ultimately, she says the unpaid obligations total over $1.2 million.
As she does not believe his estate has enough financial assets to cover the cost, she is headed to court to recover money from the family trust, in addition to seeking interest and attorney’s fees.
Malcolm died in July 2025 in an accidental drowning while on family vacation in Costa Rica. His final performance aired in October 2025.
