Sophia Laforteza will not be performing with KATSEYE at an upcoming festival appearance.
The “Gnarly” group’s community manager provided an update about the 23-year-old girl group member on their Weverse account ahead of a planned performance at 2026 Hinterland Music Festival in Iowa.
KATSEYE is due to headline on Thursday (July 30), along with acts like Lorde, Mumford & Sons and Kali Uchis.
They will now perform as a 4 member unit, with member Manon Bannerman still on hiatus.

We’re sorry to share that due to illness, Sophia will not be able to perform at the Hinterland Music Festival on Thursday, July 30. She is resting and focusing on her recovery. Daniela, Lara, Megan and Yoonchae will perform at the festival as scheduled. Thank you for your understanding and for supporting Sophia and KATSEYE.

The group just recently debuted the music video for their new single “ANIMAL,” which features a cameo from Demi Moore.
“Animal” is the second single off KATSEYE‘s upcoming EP, Wild. They released “Pinky Up” a few months ago.
