John Travolta is celebrating his new movie Propeller One-Way Night Coach with a New York City premiere!
The 72-year-old actor, who makes his directorial debut with the movie, was joined by his daughter Ella Bleu Travolta, 26, at the event on Thursday (May 21) at the Museum of Modern Art.
Ella stars in the movie while John provides the narration and appears in it as the older version of the main character.
Set in the golden age of aviation, a young airplane enthusiast, Jeff (Clark Shotwell), and his mother (Kelly Eviston-Quinnett) set off on a one-way cross-country odyssey to Hollywood, which transforms a simple flight into the trip of a lifetime. Between airline meals, charming flight attendants (Ella Bleu Travolta and Olga Hoffmann), unexpected stopovers, larger-than-life passengers and a thrilling glimpse at first class, the journey unfolds in moments both magical and unexpected, charting the course for the boy’s future.
Clark, Kelly, Olga, and co-star Alina Rose Armstrong were all in attendance at the premiere as well!
John Travolta is continuing to wear a beret!
John wore multiple berets while attending the Cannes Film Festival this past week to premiere the movie. In an interview at the festival, John explained the look.
“The old school directors wore berets and the glasses. And I thought, that’s what I’m doing,” he told CNN when asked.
“I’ve been around for over 50 years doing movies, but I can’t tell, when I look back, the difference between the events. And I said, ‘I’m a director this time. You’re an actor, play the part of a director. Look like an old school director,’” John said. He said he researched and “looked up pictures” of some past directors to get some inspo.
The movie will be available for streaming on Apple TV beginning on Friday, May 29. Just one week away!
Ella is the daughter of John and his late wife, Kelly Preston. She passed away at the age of 57 in 2020, two years after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
