Each year, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences carefully selects names as their honorary Oscars recipients.
A total of four recipients can be chosen to receive the yearly honor, which is given out at the Governors Awards.
Last year, for example, the Academy chose Debbie Allen, Tom Cruise and Wynn Thomas. The Governors Awards usually take place in November.
Now, several of the candidates for this year’s honorary Oscars have been revealed.
