Emma Roberts had a black dress on deck for her wedding to Cody John.
While the 35-year-old American Horror Story did get married in a stunning off-white silk chiffon gown, she later changed into a less traditional look for the reception. Both gowns were designed by Monique Lhuillier.
Speaking with Vogue about the outfit, Emma described it as “boudoir saloon,” with the dress featuring a Chantilly lace corset and a tea-length, hand-cut skirt crafted from layered silk organza. You can see photos of the dress here.
“I love the idea of wearing black for the after-party. We love doing something that’s a little unexpected,” she shared. “This looks like it could be totally vintage from 100 years ago, or from now. This is going to be so fun in Idaho at the after party.”
Emma and Cody married over the weekend in Idaho. They got engaged in 2024 after dating for two years.
