Cara Delevingne is opening up about her blossoming music career.
On Wednesday (April 29), Cara, 33, stepped out for the 2026 Billboard Women in Music event in Los Angeles. In an interview from the red carpet, Cara shared a valuable piece of advice she received from longtime close friend Taylor Swift.
“The more you do, the more people there are gonna be that question it,” Cara told E! News. “Art is a pure expression of yourself. So, if you’re doing what you feel is right, nothing else really matters.”
Cara went on to say that the 36-year-old “Opalite” singer told her to find an audience that resonates with her sound.
“The only thing I want is for people to feel things from this music,” she said.
Taylor isn’t the only female musician Cara has sought advice from. She said that Alanis Morissette and Fiona Apple were major inspirations for her upcoming singles “I Forgot” and “Out of My Head.”
“I probably wouldn’t be standing here without Fiona Apple,” Cara shared. “She was one of my biggest idols—is one of my biggest idols. But also someone who really believed in me and gave me the confidence to continue and do it and we would send back and forth incredible creative notes and inspiration.”
Cara went on to emphasize that Taylor, Fiona, and Alanis were “even more incredible than you’d think they’d be” when they were just her heroes, before her friends.
“It is everything,” the model continued of female friendship. “I don’t think I would be alive without some of these women in my life.”
If you didn’t see, Cara recently announced that she’s going on tour!
