Just Jared got to sit down for a chat with the first evicted houseguest on Big Brother 28, Ashley Trail.

Ashley was evicted in a 14-0 unanimous vote during Thursday’s very first live eviction of the season.

We got to ask her about the rumor that is circulating that she’s actually in a secret Big Brother sequester, potentially ready to return. Spoiler alert: it’s not true!

We also gave her the floor to clear up anything that she wanted.

Keep reading to see what we chatted about…

Kim Brown at Just Jared: Thank you so much for taking the time. You’ve done a few interviews already and I want to know if there’s anything you want to clear up that you feel like maybe you haven’t had the chance to properly say yet?

Ashley Trail: Ooh, that’s kind of exciting. Thank you for giving me the floor. I feel like if I had to address anything, it would be my perception in the house of like my personality and how I went in and everybody thought from my intro packet, maybe she’s going to play the ditzy dumb card and hope that it gets her far. However, I wasn’t playing any type of character. Who I am is… I’m a really outgoing, bubbly person. And in the house, unfortunately, just like how in the outside world, I might be kind of given a preconceived notion and taken not really seriously. That’s exactly what happened there. I would have conversations with people and it wouldn’t just be me joking around. I would actually be just kind of talking as myself and doing game discussion. And they would literally respond and be like, ‘oh, so you can be serious?’ And so it was just something that I couldn’t quite shake. And so I was kind of known as…the basic white girl…which is a terrible stereotype to be under and not only that, but burger gate i promise it wasn’t a part of my strategy to fake lie about not ever having a burger. I have never had a burger!

JJ: Some Big Brother fans online seem to think that you are not home and you are in a Big Brother sequester for a chance to return back into the house. You look like you are in a home to me. Are you able to speak to this rumor?

Ashley Trail: I absolutely wish I could not debunk this and the rumors would spread wild like rampage. However, this is not AI [points to her living space]. I am unfortunately in my comfy cozy bed, spending my alone time. And I don’t want to be, trust me, please get me in that rampage! I want stress pimples. I want the Big Brother messy drama. I want to be playing that game more than anything. However, your girl is not sequestered. And hopefully I will be sequestered and taken away from the real world for however many weeks Big Brother wants to be at a time in the future.

JJ: Who do you think is playing the best game right now?

Ashley: I think that Dee is playing a phenomenal game. I mean, she has everybody backing her. I don’t see anybody targeting Dee except for maybe Mallory. And then under her little wing is Barrett. Barrett’s sliding on through. Everybody likes Barrett. Nobody was even putting Barrett up for consideration in their mind to get out of the house. So it’s like, if you have such a good place in that game, I mean, you’re just going to make it far. Also, why is Kamu flying under the radar? He’s probably going to be such a strong competitor. And I don’t think a single person is targeting him. and he has Haley and Chuk as his shield because the red corner or whatever wants them out first.

JJ: Talk about never having had a burger before.

Ashley: I was such a picky eater little spoiled brat as a kid and if i was like presented with something I didn’t want it’s like, okay fine girl eat your Cheez-Its. So I would just Cheez-Its. Now in my daily life as an adult, I’m like ‘Okay wait if I’m presented with an option like I might as well just do it.’ So I’m just slowly but surely playing catch up with like things I never gravitated to as a child.

JJ: When you were in the house, did you think you had anyone really on your side ahead of the vote?

Ashley: Oh my gosh whenever I was in that house, I felt oh so very isolated until Dee, Barrett, Angela, and Drew kind of let it be known that they want to work with me. So I thought maybe there’s a silver lining of hope and I might have them but whenever I heard it was 14-0 I was like oh wow like I just got played. It was a shocking.

JJ: Now that you’re back in the real world with your phone and access to the internet, have you seen anything from the live feeds like from other people that kind of really surprised you>

Ashley: Whenever you’re in the house, you already don’t know what people are saying. You’re kind of freaking out you’re like oh do they want to work with me do they not but then you start to hear people’s opinions on you and I I heard a little bit of gossip and banter that was being spread by me. And it was like, it was not even on a game level. It was a personal level. And it was like kind of a gross here.

We unfortunately did not get to ask a follow up about what she heard, but perhaps we’ll get to connect with Ashley again soon and follow up.

This interview has been edited for length and clarity.
