Amazon has canceled It’s Not Like That.
The series, which scored a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes from eight reviews, starred Scott Foley and Erinn Hayes and “followed Malcolm (Foley), a pastor who is a recently widowed dad of three, and Lori (Hayes), a newly divorced mom of two teens, as they navigate their newly minted singledom with parenthood,” reports Deadline.
The cancellation comes about a month and a half after the show initially started streaming worldwide on Prime Video. It was a faith-based drama and part of Amazon’s collaboration with Wonder Project, which also produces House of David.
It’s Not Like That first premiered only on Wonder Project’s subscription channel add-on through Prime Video in January before it got a wider release on Prime Video in May.
Deadline notes that the cancellation is surprising because the series had great reviews and it was ranking on the global Top 10 rankings at No. 9 and it was “a fixture on Prime Video’s Daily Top 10 series list in the U.S.” where it currently sits at No. 5.
The show hailed from Parenthood alums Ian Deitchman and Kristin Robinson. It also starred J.R. Ramirez, Caleb Baumann, Cary Christopher, Leven Miranda, Liv Lindell, and Cassidy Paul.
