A new 21 Jump Street movie is reportedly in the works!
Months after Channing Tatum said he didn’t think a third movie would happen, Variety reveals that he is in talks to return for 24 Jump Street, alongside Jonah Hill and Ice Cube.
The publication reveals the trio would reprise their roles for the new installment, with a script by Jonah and Meghan Malloy. Rodney Rothman is set to direct.
Directors of the first two movies, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, are producing, along with Neal H Moritz.
It’s been 14 years since 22 Jump Street released, and there was a a 23 Jump Street in development, but never took off.
Back in 2024, Channing said the scrapped 23 Jump Street script was “the best script that I’ve ever read for a third movie.”
Back in October 2025, the actor shared reasoning for why he didn’t think a third movie would ever happen.
“The problem is the overhead. It would cost as much as the actual budget of the film — if not more — because of all the producers involved. It’s just too top-heavy. It falls over every time,” Channing said.
“Neal’s price for a producer fee is huge,” he added. “And to be honest, that’s what’s killing it.”
Per Variety, Channing only has an offer for 24 Jump Street, but negotiations are expected.
