Zach Braff is responding to the allegations that he is in a romance with an AI chatbot.
The Scrubs actor took to his Instagram Stories on Thursday (March 12) to share screenshots of a TikTok video made by I Need You Guys podcast hosts Jenny Slate, Gabe Liedman, and Max Silvestri, who he says are the origin of the story.
Joined by guest Kumail Nanjiani during the podcast episode from December 2025, the group discussed a rumor that a “well-known actor who is currently in a romantic relationship with his AI chatbot.”
Max said that he “heard” about the rumor from people in the industry, adding that the unnamed actor “brings the chatbot with him places.” He also said the actor has “a self-awareness but in a kind of ‘Yeah, sorry that you’re not on board with the future.’”
Zach clearly is not amused.

On his Instagram Stories, Zach wrote, “I’m not dating a chatbot. I can’t believe I have to type these words.”
“It is a storyline in an upcoming episode of Scrubs. Maybe it came from that? Not sure. But not me. Love, the guy not dating his Chatbot. Please update all gossip sites,” Zach added.
Zach shared a screenshot of Jenny and wrote, “Also I had no idea until tonight (because I’m not on TikTok) that these folks were the origin of this?”
On top of a photo of Kumail, the actor said, “I feel like now is a good time to be kind to people.”
Jenny did say on the podcast, “I don’t know, guys. Oh my god, this is not – we can’t put this on our podcast. It’s not nice.”
