The online fundraiser showed a picture of Richard walking up the steps at Brittany’s house with a delivery for her. It was taken by her security camera.
“Richard delivered Starbucks to my home via door dash and it was evident from the video this was a task for him,” she wrote in the GoFundMe description. “With the help of social media I was able to track down Richard and learned he does DoorDash due to his wife being fired from her job (at no fault of her own) and by the time they pay their monthly expenses plus purchase their medication there is nothing left. Let’s help Richard go back into retirement!!”
The fundraiser was started on March 11 and nearly achieved it’s massive goal in less than a month.
Of the donations, PEOPLE confirmed that $20,000 was from DoorDash.
