Taylor Frankie Paul is stepping away from Mormonism.

The 31-year-old Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star has been in the news a lot lately after ABC announced that they were canceling her season of The Bachelorette after a 2023 video was published showing her throwing chairs at her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen. Dakota was then granted temporary custody of their young son Ever.

In a new Instagram Story posted on Sunday (April 5), Taylor said that she is distancing herself from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

“I strongly believe in Christ, God, the bible, the divine. I believe we are loved whether we are praying in [a] church building or from a bathroom floor at home,” she continued. “I’ve also experienced grace and love from amazing people that aren’t sure what they believe if at all and that’s okay too. Point being there is more out there to learn. And I’m writing this out as a release.”

In follow-up Stories, Taylor shared an Easter coloring sheet by her kids along with a screenshot of her Spotify playlist, which included the song “Hanging on Hope” by Buffalo Traffic Jam.

“On replay lately,” Taylor wrote over the screenshot.

If you missed it, fellow Secret Lives star Jessi Draper reacted to reports the cast was “upset with Taylor” for “stealing the show.”
