The movie now has 1.1 billion views, making it the biggest movie trailer in history, according to WaveMetrix, per Variety.

The movie garnered over 718 million views in its first 24 hours, making it the biggest trailer launch for any movie or video game as well.

Deadpool and Wolverine previously held the record with 365 million views in 24 hours after launching at the 2024 Super Bowl.

The Grand Theft Auto VI video game trailer held the 24-hour record with its trailer last year, which was just shattered by Spider-Man.

Before that, Spider-Man: No Way Home made history with over 355 million viewers in 24 hours.

Tom Holland returns as the web-slinging superhero, alongside a stacked cast featuring Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando as Scorpion, and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner!

Here’s the film’s synopsis, from Sony: “After the record-breaking global success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks an entirely new chapter for Peter Parker and Spider-Man. Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves. Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he’s devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.”

The film hits theaters on July 31, 2026.
