Sarah Michelle Gellar is breaking her silence after the sudden death of Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star Nicholas Brendon.
If you didn’t see the sad news, Nicholas, who played Xander Harris on Buffy, died “in his sleep of natural causes” on Friday, March 20. He was 54-years-old.
The following morning, Sarah, 48, took to Instagram to pay tribute to her late co-star.
Keep reading to find out more…“‘They’ll never know how tough it is to be the one who isn’t chosen. To live so near to the spotlight, and never step in it. But I know. I see more than anybody realizes, because nobody’s watching me,’” Sarah wrote, quoting Nicholas‘ Buffy character.
“I saw you Nicky,” she continued. “I know you are at peace, in that big rocking chair in the sky.”
Along with her message, Sarah shared a throwback photo of herself and Nicholas.
Nicholas played Xander throughout all seven seasons of the hit WB show. He’s also known for Coherence, Psycho Beach Party, and his recurring role in Criminal Minds.
He previously shared in 2023 that he had suffered from a heart attack and was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect along with cauda equina syndrome, leading to multiple spinal surgeries.
Our continued thoughts are with Nicholas Brendon‘s loved ones during this difficult time. RIP.
