Rupert Grint is sending his love to the new Harry Potter cast.
In a new interview with BBC News, the 37-year-old actor revealed that he wrote a letter “passing the baton” to Alastair Stout, who will be taking on the role of Ron Weasley in HBO’s upcoming TV series adaption of the beloved story.
Keep reading to find out more…“I wrote him a letter, before they started, passing the baton as it were,” he said. “It was really just wishing him all the best with it. I had so much fun stepping into this world, and I hope he has the same experience.”
Also in the interview, Rupert shared his thoughts on Harry Potter now being turned into a TV series.
“It’s quite strange to have the cycle happening again,” he said. “I’m really intrigued what it’s going to be like.”
Rupert went on to say that he sees “a bit of a family resemblance” between himself and Alastair.
“I think it’s great that it’s a whole new thing,” Rupert said. “It’s going to be its own thing, and I think that will be fun.”
Rupert‘s comments come after Daniel Radcliffe also revealed that he reached out to the young actor that’s playing Harry Potter in the series.
