Chad Powers debuts on Hulu today, with Glen Powell in the leading role.
However, you may not realize that the show is inspired by an Eli Manning sketch that went viral on the Internet a few years back.
Eli, a Super Bowl winning retired quarterback for the New York Giants, underwent a major transformation for the video. He put on prosthetics and pretended to be a “walk on” at Penn State University, named Chad Powers.
He tried out among lots of other college football hopefuls in the humorous video. Eventually…the other athletes kinda figured out something was up!

Here’s an official synopsis of the show: “When bad behavior nukes hotshot QB Russ Holliday’s college career, he disguises himself and walks onto a struggling Southern football team as the talented, affable Chad Powers.” Eli and his brother, Hall of Famer Peyton Manning, are both executive producers.
