Pixar has several big, exciting projects in development, including a new entry in the Monsters. Inc universe!
According to a new profile piece from Wall Street Journal, Pixar is developing a third Monsters, Inc., though it’s unclear if it will be a direct sequel to the original 2001 film, a follow-up to the prequel Monsters University, or something else entirely.

Other sequels in the works include this June’s Toy Story 5, a third Incredibles movie set for 2028, and a sequel to Coco for 2029.
Additionally, the profile reports that Pixar is working on more original stories, like its first-ever musical from Turning Red director Domee Shi and a movie about a cat thief called Gatto. Ono Ghost Market, a film inspired by Asian myths, is being turned into a movie instead of a streaming service.
