‘Lord of the Flies’ Series Sets Netflix Premiere Date, Reveals Cast & First Details | Lord of the Flies, Netflix, Television | Celebrity News and Gossip | Entertainment, Photos and Videos

Lord of the Flies is heading to Netflix.

The series, created and written by Adolescence co-creator Jack Thorne and directed by Marc Munden, will premiere on May 4 on the streamer.

Here’s the official logline for the limited series: “Innocence descends into savagery when a group of English schoolboys becomes desert island castaways in the first television adaptation of William Golding’s landmark dystopian classic.”

The series features music by Hans Zimmer, Kara Talve and Cristobal Tapia de Veer.

It will consist of four one-hour episodes.

The cast includes Winston Sawyers as Ralph, Lox Pratt as Jack, David McKenna as Piggy, and Ike Talbut as Simon. Thomas Connor stars as Roger, Noah and Cassius Flemyng star as twins Sam and Eric, Cornelius Brandreth is Maurice, and Tom Page-Turner appears as Bill, alongside an ensemble of more than 30 boys playing the desert island camp’s “biguns” and “littluns.”

Lord of the Flies is the 1954 debut novel of British author William Golding, and follows young British boys stranded on an island, attempting to govern themselves and descending into savagery. It’s been adapted into film three times, and this is the first TV adaptation of the novel.
