“I feel immense pride as a Korean filmmaker that the audience wants more from this Korean story and our Korean characters,” Maggie shared in a statement. “There’s so much more to this world we have built, and I’m excited to show you. This is only the beginning.”
Chris added, “These characters are like family to us, their world has become our second home. We’re excited to write their next chapter, challenge them, and watch them evolve — and continue pushing the boundaries of how music, animation, and story can come together.”
KPop Demon Hunters, which was released in June 2025, told the story of pop girl group HUNTR/X and their musical quest to protect the world from demons.
The voice cast of the movie included Arden Cho, Ahn Hyo-seop, May Hong, Ji-young Yoo, Yunjin Kim, Daniel Dae Kim, Ken Jeong, and Lee Byung-hun while the singing voices of HUNTR/X are Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami.
No announcement has been made regarding the sequel’s cast.
The movie has since became Netflix’s most popular original movie of all time.
Back in October Maggie Kang explained why KPop Demon Hunters will never get a live-action adaption.
