King Charles held hands with Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his State Visit to the UK!

If you don’t know, the monarch and his wife, Queen Camilla, welcomed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu on Wednesday (March 18) in Windsor, England. They greeted them outside Windsor Castle, and later had a state banquet, all of which were also attended by Prince William and Princess Catherine.

You may wonder why they are holding hands. Well, People reports: “hand-holding between men is a familiar sign of friendship and respect in Nigeria.”

“For the two leaders to hold hands, is certainly unusual, as British men aren’t usually seen holding hands with one another. In Nigerian culture however, it is perfectly normal for men to walk close together and even hold hands,” body language expert Inbaal Honigman told Hello. “The King is a well travelled and cultured person, if the President’s hand was offered to him with kindness, he would know that the intent is positive.”
