Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Kaila Partlo accused of being getaway driver in killing of her own daughter.
A 36-year-old Flint woman is accused of driving her 16-year-old boyfriend to a shooting, where he allegedly opened fire on her own daughter’s 16-year-old boyfriend in Buena Vista Township. Yes you read that right.
Police say the incident occurred on October 27, when Kaila E. Partlo drove her teenage boyfriend and her daughter’s 16-year-old boyfriend from Oxford to Saginaw. Investigators say Partlo was unhappy with how the teen had been treating her daughter.
Investigators say Partlo told the teen to get out of the vehicle near Irving Park Boulevard and Irving Park Place and place business cards on a fence for her cleaning company, Jane of All Trades. As he did so, police say he turned around and saw Partlo’s boyfriend leaning out of the car holding a gun.
The teen allegedly fired at least one shot toward the victim’s head, narrowly missing him after the teen dropped to the ground to avoid being hit.
Police say Partlo and her boyfriend immediately drove away, leaving the teen stranded. His brand-new iPhone 16 was still inside the vehicle, forcing him to seek help from a nearby resident to call 911.
Using phone-tracking data and Flock camera footage, investigators followed the vehicle back to Partlo’s home in Flint. Officers later found the victim’s smashed phone near a curb on Robinwood Avenue.
Detectives say Partlo initially took responsibility for the incident but later changed her story, telling investigators she didn’t want her boyfriend to get in trouble. A 9mm handgun—believed to be the weapon used—was recovered from a safe inside her home. Police say Partlo purchased the gun in 2020 but never registered it.
Her teenage boyfriend allegedly admitted to destroying the victim’s phone and tossing it from the vehicle while fleeing the area.
The investigation remains ongoing.
