Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber, also known as Stephanie Tanner and Kimmy Gibbler on Full House, are reflecting on the show and specifically what it was like working with young Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who shared the role of Stephanie’s sister Michelle Tanner.
Jodie, 43, and Andrea, 49, were answering questions on their podcast How Rude, Tanneritos when one particular query asked which Olsen twin was easier to work with.

“Was there ever a point when the directors would favor working with one twin over the other and give them more time on set? In a situation like that, could they fire one and keep the other? How does that work with twins? Especially when they get older and you don’t need to switch out the crying babies,” was the extent of the question.
The Dancing with the Stars alum confirmed that yes, “there was a point when they favored working with one over the other.”
Specifically, Jodie says, “at the beginning” of the twins’ tenure, when they were babies.
“It was Ashley,” she shared. “Mary-Kate did not like being out on set, but Ashley was like, ‘Cool, Whatevs.’ She was much more kind of docile about it.”
It was more or less the same as they got older and sometimes they would pick which scenes they wanted to do, since they both played Michelle.
Andrea chimed in, “One would want to do a certain scene because it was more fun for them and the other one didn’t care.”
However, there was one type of scene that Mary-Kate and Ashley would fight over, and that was any that involved Michelle eating sweets.
Jodie said the directors had to fairly “divide up the sweets eating scenes.”
“They couldn’t have one twin eating more sweets than the other one, or the girls would riot.”
Elizabeth Olsen recently spoke about what it was like growing up with Mary-Kate and Ashley as her older sisters.
