A24 is sharing a behind-the-scenes look at Anne Hathaway‘s new movie!
The 43-year-old Oscar-winning actress stars alongside Michaela Coel, Hunter Schafer, and FKA twigs in the psychological drama-thriller Mother Mary, written and directed by David Lowery.
Here’s a synopsis: “Long-buried wounds rise to the surface when iconic pop star Mother Mary (Hathaway) reunites with her estranged best friend and former costume designer Sam Anselm (Coel) on the eve of her comeback performance.”

“My first impression on reading the script was just, ‘Wow, please, please let it be me,’” Anne shares in the new behind-the-scenes video.
“What I loved was working with this particular group,” Anne adds. “Everyone was so passionate. Michaela and I had so much fun.”
“You haven’t seen anything like this before,” Michaela teases at the end of the video.
Anne performs original music in the movie, written and produced by Jack Antonoff, Charli xcx, and FKA twigs.
The cast also includes Kaia Gerber, Atheena Frizzell, Jessica Brown Findlay, Alba Baptista, Isaura Barbé-Brown, and Sian Clifford.
Mother Mary will be released in select theaters on April 17 before a nationwide release on April 24. Tickets are on sale now at A24Films.com.
