Giuliana Rancic is opening up about her breakup with Jerry O’Connell in lengthy detail after he talked about them in the press last week.
The former Fashion Police host and the actor previously dated from 2003 to 2004. The couple made over a dozen red carpet appearances together between March 2003 and June 2004. She later wrote about their breakup in her 2015 memoir, “Going Off Script.”
In a recent interview, Jerry was asked to comment on Giuliana‘s claims that he cheated on her and broke up with her via intercom. He admitted that he broke up with her through the intercom, but said he doesn’t remember the exact wording. Giuliana then spoke out and said she was going to talk about it all on her podcast. And she did.

Giuliana said on the podcast that Jerry went to Vegas and went silent on her while he was there.
“I kept trying to call him to see when he was going to get back from Vegas. I mean, I’m his girlfriend, like when you’re getting back from Vegas? Like are we going to dinner next week? Like what are we doing? Like I see you every day and cut to can’t get in touch with him?” Giuliana said.
She texted him and said, “Jerry, I’m just worried about you, like I haven’t heard from you in a few days.” He didn’t respond until she sent a message saying she was going to call the police for a wellness check.
“Finally, I said, ‘Jerry, I’m gonna call the police,’ like I’m really worried about you. He writes back, ‘Do not call the police.’ He goes, ‘I just got back to L.A. I’m at my condominium,’” she said. “He goes, ‘I’m fine, I’m fine.’ So I was like, oh my God, okay. So I write, ‘I’m coming over,’ like, ‘I haven’t seen you in like five days. What’s going on?’ So I go over there, and that’s where this whole thing happened.”
Jerry broke up with her while on the balcony
Giuliana hit the buzzer on Jerry‘s intercom and he wouldn’t buzz her into the apartment. He eventually came onto the balcony.
She recalled, “He didn’t have enough courage to come down and see me face-to-face, like a foot away, and instead did it from a balcony. He broke up with me from a balcony. And I honestly thought it was because he was just like over it, done, and he was just like, bye.”
“It was devastating, heartbreaking, humiliating. It was traumatizing. It truly was, and I just could not believe what I was hearing,” she said.
Giuliana says Jerry is downplaying their relationship
In his recent relationship, Jerry made it seem like he wasn’t officially in a relationship with Giuliana.
“Giuliana Rancic wanted entry into my condominium. Thank goodness, buzzer, gate, security. I paid a pretty hefty homeowners fee for these things. Cameras and everything. And I said, ‘I did not know you were coming. You can’t come here unannounced.’ Notice no one had a key, so the relationship was not like that,” he explained on SiriusXM’s Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa,
Giuliana said on her podcast that she was with Jerry “24/7” and they had been together for a year and a half.
“We were photographed all the time on red carpets at a million events. And so I think that like all these
years later, he’s like downplaying it what the relationship was,” she said.
