China Anne McClain is heading to Broadway!
The 27-year-old actress is set to play Daisy Buchanan in the musical The Great Gatsby this summer alongside fellow Disney Channel alum Ryan McCartan, who will return to the role of Jay Gatsby.
China Anne will join the show on Monday, August 3, taking over for original leading lady Eva Noblezada, who will depart the musical on July 26. National tour star Senzel Ahmady will make her Broadway debut in the role of Daisy from July 27 – August 2.
High School Musical‘s Corbin Bleu is also in the show right now, playing the role of Nick Carraway.
Best known for her work in the Descendants franchise and the series A.N.T. Farm, you might also know China Anne from playing Jennifer Pierce / Lightning on the CW superhero series Black Lightning or from her work in Tyler Perry projects like Daddy’s Little Girls and House of Payne.
In addition to her acting career, China Anne is a recording artist with both a solo deal and one with the McClain Sisters.
