E. Jean Carroll has been awarded millions from President Donald Trump.

The 82-year-old writer was paid $5.63 million in damages following a legal victory against the 80-year-old President of the United States.

The money was sent to the law firm representing the writer on Monday (July 13), according to a new entry in the docket of federal court in New York, per Deadline..

“The Eagle Has Landed,” she announced on her Substack, in which she thanked multiple people.

Her lead attorney Roberta Kaplan also issued a statement, via CBS News:

“Three years ago, a unanimous nine-person jury found President Trump liable for sexually assaulting and defaming E. Jean Carroll. Today, we are pleased to report that she has received the damages payment the jury awarded her as a result of that verdict.”

A jury previously ruled Trump was liable for sexual abuse and defamation following a 1996 incident at a Manhattan department store, in which he was accused of forcibly inserting his fingers into her in a Bergdorf Goodman changing room.

The writer claims Trump sexually abused her, which he denied. She also sued for defamation. Trump appealed, but the Supreme Court decided not to take on the case, so the jury’s verdict remained in place. The jury rejected the rape claim, as the state requires proof of forceful penetration involving genitals.

Trump also appealed a verdict in a different proceeding that awarded the writer $83.3 million for defamation.

U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan wrote ahead of the payment this week, per Deadline: “In the last analysis, defendant has been stalling this case for years. A jury unanimously concluded that he sexually abused and defamed plaintiff and awarded her damages accordingly. The judgment on that verdict has been upheld on appeal. En banc rehearing has been denied. The Supreme Court has denied certiorari without dissent. It is time for him to ‘do equity’ and pay the judgment.”

Trump recently made a false claim involving Taylor Swift.
