
Singer Bonnie Tyler has unexpectedly died at the age of 75.
The 75-year-old “Total Eclipse of the Heart” singer was hospitalized in Portugal and died due to an illness.

Her spokesperson confirmed her passing in a statement
“Bonnie’s family and team are heartbroken to announce that Bonnie unexpectedly passed away last night in [a] hospital in Portugal as a result of the illness that she was being treated for,” her spokesperson shared in a statement. “We will issue a further statement shortly but for now ask for privacy to deal with this tragedy.”
It was just confirmed a few weeks ago that she had been in a coma after undergoing emergency surgery.

Bonnie had been making hit music since the 1970s. She became widely known for hits including “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and “Holding Out for a Hero,” and released multiple albums throughout her career. She has earned three Grammy nominations, and received a Gold Badge Award from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors in recognition of her contributions to music.
