Legendary music icon Clive Davis has passed away at the age of 94.
The New York Times reports that he passed away on Monday (June 22) at his home in NYC.
What was Clive Davis’ cause of death?
While a cause of death has not been reported, he was just a few weeks out from a hospitalization.
Earlier this month, he was in a New York hospital after developing an upper respiratory infection. On Thursday (June 4), a rep for Clive confirmed to TMZ that he has been discharged from the hospital.
Who did Clive Davis work with throughout his storied career?
He rose to prominence as president of CBS Records in the 1960s, where he signed and developed artists like Janis Joplin, Santana, Bruce Springsteen, and Billy Joel. In the 1970s, he founded Arista Records, launching Whitney Houston’s career. He later created J Records and held leadership roles at major labels including RCA, continuing to sign successful acts like Alicia Keys and Kelly Clarkson.
He is also known for his annual pre-Grammy Awards celebration party.
