Kelly Clarkson is being reduced to tears, thanks to Rita Wilson‘s thoughtful words.
The 69-year-old Sleepless in Seattle actress and singer made an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Wednesday’s episode (May 27), where she shared some thoughts with Kelly about the show, which is coming to an end.
“I just wanna say one thing before we go,” Rita began.
“I wanna thank you for the years that you’ve been doing your show. I wanna thank you for literally changing the game when it came to daytime television. The fact that you love music. That you have brought so much music to daytime that you have shared with us,” she said.
“Your voice, your gifts, and everyone else’s and your incredible band. I really wanna thank you because it has made a big change in my life. So thank you, Kelly.”
Kelly began to cry, mouthing “I’m fine” before getting up and hugging Rita, saying “that’s so nice.”
“Oh my God! I’m like, ‘Shut it off!’ It’s okay. Thanks,” she said while composing herself. Watch the sweet moment at the end of the interview above.
After months of rumors, Kelly confirmed earlier this year that the talk show will wrap up after the seventh season. The final episodes will air in Fall 2026.
In a statement, Kelly explained her decision to end the show.
