Love on the Spectrum star Abbey Romeo is opening up about her breakup from longtime boyfriend David Isaacman.
The fan-favorite couple from the hit Netflix series split in April, and Abbey shared new details about the breakup while appearing on the Thursday (May 21) episode of Tea Time with Raven-Symoné and Miranda Maday.
Abbey explained that the two are now choosing to “call each other best friends, not boyfriend and girlfriend anymore.”
She also reflected on how much she has changed during their relationship.
“I have grown and changed a lot for the past four and a half years,” Abbey shared, adding, “without David, I wouldn’t be where I am today. He was a good start.”
Despite the breakup, Abbey said she’s embracing this new chapter in her life.
“Being single ladies, like Beyoncé said,” Abbey joked. “It feels amazing.”
Abbey Romeo and David Isaacman were together for nearly five years and became one of the most beloved couples featured on Love on the Spectrum.
Back in April, Abbey’s mom also addressed the split and explained that the former couple simply wanted different things in life.
“David was happy in his way of doing life. And Abbey‘s was different,” she shared.
Abbey’s mom continued, “I’m personally grateful to David for being a mirror for her to see and figure out what she wants, who she is, what’s [her] love language. The other part of that is please don’t judge autistic relationships as if they were typical. So many people on the spectrum are not going to do what typical people do.”
She also referenced the pressure surrounding “engagements and rings being thrown around.”
Meanwhile, another Love on the Spectrum star just revealed she has a new boyfriend!
