What happened that caused Jeff Probst to spoil Survivor 50?

During the live show, Jeff accidentally revealed one of the contestants, Rizo Velovic, was eliminated before the decision was aired.

“I don’t know if there’s something in there to think about, anyway, Rizo, you’ve become the final member of our jury. Take a spot over here,” Jeff said.“This is it. These are our people. Their games fell a little short, but this is the group that is going to…”

It then became apparent that a major mishap occured.

“What just happened?” he asked as contestants on stage were telling him it had not aired yet.

“I’m not even sure what’s happened,” Jeff said and then cut to commercial break.

What did Jeff Probst say when Survivor returned from commercial break, after he spoiled the show?

When the show returned, he told the audience, “Alright, so, I love doing live television.”

“In case you’re confused, this is what happened. We were going to show you fire-making, and then have the loser of fire-making, Rizo, come out and talk about if he had practiced fire-making maybe he would’ve won,” Jeff explained. “Instead, we did a ‘Survivor’ twist, it’s the last twist of the season. We call it, ‘A peek into the future.’ So now, we’re going to watch Rizo lose in a fire to Jonathan.”

The night wrapped up without any remaining issues, and the winner was crowned!
