Anne Hathaway was seen leaving The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday (April 29) in a very familiar look!
The 43-year-old actress left the studio donning the same green coat she wore in the The Devil Wears Prada, in a nod to that first film from 20 years ago.
In a recent interview, Anne‘s stylist Erin Walsh explained why the The Devil Wears Prada 2 press tour looks ended with that coat.
“Annie wanted to wrap the tour up with this nod to the film,” she told Vogue. “Since it was the last moment of the tour, it felt like such a special piece.”
Erin also revealed that Anne actually bought the coat at an auction!
If you recall, Anne wore the coat during her makeover montage in the first movie, which costume designer Patricia Field previously said was one of her favorite looks of Andy Sachs’.
“I loved it because of the color: It was the first thing that you saw, it was striking, and I think it hit the mark,” she dished to EW in 2016. “For me, the success of the clothing is not only that it looks good, but it has to tell the story. So when she’s walking in these streets that are gray and gritty, she popped.”
