Tina Fey is shuttering any talks of more Mean Girls.
The 55-year-old comedian and writer penned both movies and the Tony-nominated Broadway musical adaptation, but she’s stopping there.
While speaking at the HISTORYTalks event in Philadelphia on April 18th, Tina talked about the movies and the stage musical.
“We always, in every iteration, tried to honor the source material, which is like a sociology book about how to help girls through relational aggression and behaviors like that,” she said, via People. “It’s like, yes, everyone loves the Plastics. They have the best outfits. We don’t want to emulate them, ultimately. We want to pay attention to the fact that their behavior does take them down.”
She then joked about the future of the franchise, noting, “I promise there are no more iterations coming.”
Back in 2024, it was reported that Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams would be interested in doing a Mean Girls sequel.
If you missed it, there were a lot of stars who auditioned for the first Mean Girls movie, plus stars who did get the role, but auditioned or were interested in different characters at first.
