Rachel Zegler and Ben Platt just announced they’re releasing a live album of the beloved musical The Last Five Years!
The musical theatre stars recently performed a sold-out London residency and they recorded one of the shows for the live album, which will be released on April 20.
Rachel and Ben shared the news during the bows of their Hollywood Bowl show on Friday night (April 3) in Los Angeles.
“This is a very short and wonderful experience we did, of just one week in London and we’ve got just two shows in New York. And we were all so sad to see it go and really wanted to immortalize this amazing experience and incredible score, so we’re very excited to announce right here, right now, available for pre-order right now when we finish, there’s a live album that we recorded at the London Palladium,” Ben said.
The concert was conducted and directed by Jason Robert Brown, who wrote the show. The event celebrated the 25th anniversary of the musical!
The musical is about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years. Cathy (Zegler) tells her story backwards while Jamie (Platt) tells his story chronologically.
