Zendaya is opening up about staying mum on her rumored wedding.
The 29-year-old actress and beau Tom Holland were said earlier this year to have secretly tied the knot, but neither star has confirmed or denied the news, despite being spotted wearing what appears to be a wedding band.
In a new interview, Zendaya is opening up about why she won’t confirm whether or not they are indeed married.

“I just feel like for me there is a level of a parasocial investment in my personal relationship, which I understand,” she said on The New York Times’ Modern Love podcast. “I’m aware that I’m a public person and so is he, and I’m also aware that we’ve grown up in front of people and we’ve done movies where we fall in love with each other, so I really do understand that, and I don’t want to dismiss that like, ‘Stay out of my business’ or whatever.”
“In a lot of ways, I’m also a very private person and I try my best to be able to have things for myself and for him as well,” she added.
Zendaya and Tom have notoriously kept their relationship fairly private, and she says they are not trying to “hide [themselves] from the world,” and are just trying to “preserve things” for themselves to “maintain that joy” between just them and their loved ones.
She continues acknowledging that they are public figures and there is interest in their relationship.
“I hear it, but I also [have] my own little boundaries of what I like to bring up and talk about, but then also what I’m also willing to share, you know?” she said. “I just try to find the balance in the middle there.”
Zendaya is currently promoting her new movie The Drama, and her press tour looks have been wedding-themed. She and Tom were last seen together in Paris last week, while she was in town for the film’s premiere and press in the City of Love.
She also recently shared something that Tom can do that “kind of pisses me off.”
