A brand-new joke has been added to the Broadway musical The Book of Mormon after 15 years on stage.

The original stars of the musical joined the writing team to celebrate the 15th anniversary performance on Thursday (March 19) at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre in New York City.

Original cast members Andrew Rannells, Nikki M. James, Rory O’Malley, and more joined writers Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Bobby Lopez at the performance, where their new Epstein joke debuted.

In the act two song “Spooky Mormon Hell Dream,” Elder Price comes across some of the most evil men in history during his nightmare, in which he’s sent to hell for breaking the Mormon rules.

A reference to Jeffrey Dahmer has now been replaced by a reference to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who died in prison in 2019 and has now become one of the most debated topics in the political world.

People reports that Stone told the audience, “I want to talk about the Epstein joke, that’s what I want to talk about.”

Parker added, “You guys were the first to see the Epstein joke tonight! “We spent three months on the rewrite, and it was finally here tonight!”
