Sean Penn was noticeably absent from the 2026 Academy Awards.
The 65-year-old actor decided to skip the big event on Sunday night (March 15) held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
During the show, Sean was announced the winner the Best Supporting Actor award for his role in One Battle After Another. This is now his third Oscar win.
As it turns out, Sean was in a completely different continent at the time of the Oscars.
Keep reading to find out more…The following day, it was revealed that Sean is in Ukraine spending time with good friend President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“Sean, thanks to you, we know what a true friend of Ukraine is. You have stood with Ukraine since the first day of the full-scale war,” Zelenskyy wrote on X along with a photo of himself and Sean sitting in his office.
“This is still true today,” Zelenskyy continued. “And we know that you will continue to stand with our country and our people.
If you didn’t know, Sean has been spending a lot of time in Ukraine and offering his assistance since Russia invaded the country in 2022.
With his win for One Battle After Another, Sean has joined one of the most exclusive clubs in Oscars history.
