Billy Crystal is paying tribute to longtime friend and collaborator Rob Reiner during the 2026 Oscars.

The emotional moment took place during the ceremony’s annual In Memoriam segment on Sunday (March 15) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

Billy reflected on his decades-long friendship with the legendary filmmaker while highlighting some of the most beloved movies from Rob‘s career, including Stand By Me, The Princess Bride and When Harry Met Sally, which he starred in with Meg Ryan.

“My friend Rob’s movies will last a lifetime,” Billy said during the tribute.

“They’re about what makes us laugh and cry, and what we aspire to be.”

After the remarks, many stars who worked with Rob joined him on stage to stand together before the In Memoriam.
