Netflix has released the first official teaser for upcoming film Remarkably Bright Creatures.

The movie is based on Shelby Van Pelt‘s acclaimed novel and stars Sally Field and Lewis Pullman. Netflix has also revealed that Alfred Molina will voice the giant Pacific octopus named Marcellus, a fun nod to his Spider-Man character Doctor Octopus aka Doc Ock.

Here is the synopsis shared by Netflix, “A widow who works at a local aquarium finds joy again when she forms an unlikely bond with a Giant Pacific Octopus and a wayward young man who comes to town in search of family. Together, they will uncover a mystery that will lead them to a life-changing discovery and restore their sense of wonder. Based on the best-selling book.”

Colm Meaney, Joan Chen, Kathy Baker, Beth Grant, and Sofia Black D’Elia also star. The film was directed by Olivia Newman who also co-wrote the script with John Whittington.

Remarkably Bright Creatures will be released on Netflix on May 8.
