Just Jared: Last night, Morgan told Lauren about your secret power. And she prefaced it by saying she wasn’t supposed to tell Lauren and that she hoped you weren’t mad. What’s your reaction to that?

Zach Cornell: Look in the moment it was 1:30 in the morning over on east coast time when that happened. I was surprised. I was surprised because she told me she would never tell anybody, granted, it’s Big Brother right? I’m off the show, she’s trying to fight for her life in there. Lauren’s the one with the veto so the whole thing of what she was trying to do it was a game move and I don’t…that’s her game move. I respect her trying to fight to stay in the house And so, you know, it is what it is. Ever since I’m out of the house, she can do whatever the heck she wants, you know? So so that’s that was kind of my thought process when it all went down. I was very surprised at the very beginning. But then I’m like, I’m out of the house…it doesn’t matter because she’s trying to fight for her life.

JJ: Are you worried that the house guests inside the house are going to think a certain way about you for not using the power?

ZC: I mean, it is what it is. Everyone has their own opinion and I still stay true to what I thought in that moment of, I was really trying to save Morgan and so I hope that translates into how loyal of a guy I was in the house because I felt like that’s what a lot of the people in the house believed. I’m hoping it stays true to the character of who I am as a person.

JJ: How do you feel about Rachel’s nominations this week?

ZC: I am now a fan, right? I’m no longer in the house and as a fan of the show, it’s cinema. I mean, that is what people wanted to see. It’s a shame that they were some of my closest friends in the house but as I’m now a fan, so seeing it from that perspective and seeing the live feeds and people’s perception of the people in the house. I mean, this is what America wants to see, right? So we’ll see if Lauren ends up using the actual veto on anybody. But my guess is that she won’t.

JJ: Who would you vote out of the three if you were still there?

ZC: That is a juicy question. I will say that. No, I mean, look, if I’m putting myself in the house, right, and I don’t know what’s happening with the live feeds or America or anything like that, I would probably see Mickey go because…in my perception when I was in the house, she was playing a very strong game using the power, you know, getting somebody like Jimmy out of the house. That was my perception when I was in the house. Mickey is a strong player. And so for that reason, if I was still in the house and I don’t know what I know now, Mickey would be the person I want to see go.

JJ: Since leaving the house and getting access to social media and all the opinions from Big Brother fans, is there anything that you’ve read on social media from the fans that is different from what the perception was inside the house? Did anything totally surprised you?

ZC: Yeah. There were a few things that I was not expecting at all in terms of the fan perception compared to what I was expecting. Keanu, for example, is one of the people that I did want out of the house. He was somebody that I didn’t agree with, socially, in terms of our games and I was trying to actually get him out. Now, I’m seeing he’s pulled himself off the block multiple times. Fans love him. As a fan, now, of the show, I love him. I mean, I’m really rooting for him to stay in the game because he is a comp beast. After Big Brother, he’s going to get an opportunity to play another show because of how entertaining he really is. That’s one of the biggest things that I realized… kind of stepping back, realizing Keanu is incredible as a fan. In the house, it was a little bit frustrating trying to work with him because we never really saw eye to eye. But as a fan, I love what he’s doing right now.

JJ: Something on social media got a little attention, where he said he spent hours a day alone.

ZC: I didn’t realize that. Was it during the whole thing where he had that blow up with Ava?

JJ: I just know he said he spent a lot of time in the wine room by himself early on.

ZC: When he was on the block, it was, look, it’s a lot of pressure. And so I know that he spent a lot of time reading the word, which I really respect. It really felt like he was trying to take some alone time, but I respect that man a hundred percent. Like, I think he’s one of the greatest guys in there. And as a fan, like I said, I am really pulling for him right now.

JJ: How did it feel to be tapped by Julie during your exit interview?

ZC: When she smacked me? Yeah I mean look, I can be the first Big Brother [houseguest] to ever say I saved Julie but also got smacked upside the head by Julie. So I’m the first person to ever do that. I’m blessed to be on Big Brother. I love Julie. My family loves Julie. Being able to play this game and have these unique experiences, even like doing the punishment with Rachel was very cool to me. Like that’s stuff that I will remember forever. And I’m forever blessed to be a part of this amazing cast.
