Bridgerton Season 4, Part 1 has officially arrived on Netflix, and fans are already binging to see the beginnings of Benedict and Sophie’s love story.
However, one actor you will NOT see in season four is Rege-Jean Page.
He actually has not appeared on the show since his season one starring role as Simon, the Duke of Hastings.
Fans were dismayed when he decided to exit the series after season one, but in a resurfaced interview, he explained why he exited.

When asked why he left and if it was because he did not want to become “pigeonholed,” Rege-Jean told Vanity Fair, “It’s much simpler than that. I signed up to do a job and I did the job and then I did some other jobs. That’s it. That’s the story. I wish it was more glamorous than that. [After] we finished the story, the temptation would be to roll with the distractions and go, ‘Oh, well, the story went really well so we can kind of change this up and make some other stuff up, I guess.’ That was never what we’d signed up to do.”
