Moving from Tuesday at 9pm, The Rookie will now air on Monday nights at 10pm, starting January 26th, following the season premiere of American Idol. The series will continue to air it’s remaining episodes after Idol with a straight run for the next 15 weeks with no break.

New series RJ Decker, starring Scott Speedman, will then join ABC’s lineup on Tuesday nights when it premieres on March 3rd. The upcoming show will take the 10pm time slot, following Will Trent at 8 and High Potential at 9.

Here’s a synopsis: RJ Decker (Speedman) is a disgraced newspaper photographer and ex-con who starts over as a private investigator in the colorful-if-crime-filled world of South Florida. The series follows him tackling cases that range from slightly odd to outright bizarre with the help of his journalist ex, her police detective wife and a shadowy new benefactor — a woman from his past who could be his greatest ally … or his one-way ticket back to prison.

The new series is inspired by Carl Hiaasen‘s novel “Double Whammy,” and also stars Jaina Lee Ortiz, Bevin Bru, Kevin Rankin and Adelaide Clemens.

Speaking of The Rookie, a new spinoff is in the works!
